Empowering Schools With a Trusted Platform for Digital Product Safety

ESA had been working on the Safer Technologies 4 Schools (ST4S) catalogue, built on Directus, to provide schools with product safety reports. However, the project faced repeated delays and failed engagements with other vendors.

The main challenges were:

• A platform stuck in limbo without a clear launch path.
• Authentication issues causing friction for users.
• Lack of stable environments to properly test and deploy.

ESA needed a trusted partner to get the catalogue ready for launch before the end of the financial year.

Rocket Lab stepped in as a Directus bronze partner and quickly stabilised the project:

   • Established clear staging and production environments to ensure stability and reliability.
2. Authentication Remediation
   • Upgraded and remediated long-standing authentication defects by integrating Kinde, leveraging Rocket Lab’s strategic partnership.
3. Pragmatic Delivery
   • Focused on resolving the biggest blockers without unnecessary rewrites.
   • Collaborated directly with the vendor to streamline fixes and accelerate progress.
