Flutter is an open-source framework created by Google for building iOS, Android, web and desktop apps from one Dart codebase. It draws its own interface with its own rendering engine, so apps look and behave the same on every device.
Is Flutter a good choice in 2026?
For many apps, yes. Google actively maintains it, its package ecosystem is large, and it is especially strong for custom, brand-heavy interfaces. The trade-off is Dart: it is easy to learn, but fewer developers know it than JavaScript, which matters if you plan to hire an in-house team later.
Flutter or React Native?
Both are strong. Flutter uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits highly custom designs. React Native uses JavaScript or TypeScript and shares skills and code with React websites. We build with both and recommend based on your team, your existing code and your app, not a preference.
