About the Client

MyGig is a Workforce-as-a-Service platform, founded in Sydney in 2024. It employs casual workers as their Employer of Record, pays them the day after every shift, and gives businesses an on-demand workforce with award compliance built in. It operates as an authorised Employer of Record in NSW, WA, TAS and NT.

The Challenge

In MyGig's words, casual work keeps Australia moving, but the worker's side of it has been a bad deal: pay that is hard to read, weekly or fortnightly pay cycles, no clear view of what a shift is worth, and no way to carry a good reputation from one employer to the next. MyGig set out to rebuild that system, and its workers needed one app for all of it.

The app had to let a worker:

  • Find shifts that fit their skills, their location and their week, across very different industries.
  • Know the total pay for a shift before taking it.
  • Clock in and out, and see their payslips, without paperwork.
  • Build a profile and a work history that counts.

The Solution

Rocket Lab designed and built the MyGig app for iOS and Android in Flutter, and continues to work on it. With it, workers can:

  • Discover positions matched to their skills and location.
  • Book shifts with the pay estimated up front.
  • Clock in and out with the built-in time and attendance system.
  • Review payslips securely and track their earnings in a wallet.
  • Train and stay compliant with workplace requirements through MyGig Training.
  • Build a profile and history of achievements, attendance and reliability.

The Outcome

The app went live on the App Store in November 2025 and is on both the App Store and Google Play. It is where MyGig's workers pick up shifts and see their pay: MyGig points every worker to the app for shifts, pay, training and their worker profile.
